There is a lot of discussion surrounding manifestation. This concept is sometimes referred to as a law of the universe. If you've seen the movie, or read the book, "The Secret," then you surely know what I'm referring to. Manifestation holds a unique and delicate position in Tarot, where people often see the cards as having the potential to manifest a future, vision, or reality. Conversely, people may believe that the cards that appear before them were manifested through their thoughts, intentions, or "ju-ju." To some extent, it's undeniable that shuffling the cards and placing them in front of you is a person manifestating them, but whether there was a divine purpose behind it is always interesting dinner conversation.
Drawing a Tarot card, may seem mundane, but can be viewed as a miraculous event. There is a 1 in 78 chance of drawing any given card. All of the factors that went into drawing the card you did, and the very act of having the senses, faculties, and body to draw a card is a story, that if extended and inspected, is brimming with miracles.
What's the role of this card in manifesting a certain life for the reader? The best approach to divinity might be two-pronged. It might involve both seeking to manifest greater and greater goodness, kindness, and love in the world, and recognizing the goodness that already exists in the world more greatly. While focusing on the former can lead to greed if not kept in check, focusing on the latter is a safer approach and often leads to those grand signs appearing. However, if you focus on appreciating the manifestations that exist with the intention of tricking your mind into manifesting greater miracles, I'm sorry to tell you that your mind will not out trick your mind.
Manifestation is not otherworldly, but the very foundation of the mind. Your thoughts appear and disappear on the canvas of consciousness. There is some act that causes their appearance and disappearance. It is not random. For example, if you ask yourself, "What am I in the mood to eat?" an image or word may pop into your head. Similarly, if you ask yourself, "What's my greatest strength?" a word may appear. That word would not have appeared if you hadn't asked the question, and by holding an intention and speaking to yourself, you manifested the appearance of that thought or image in your mind. As you practice a thought more and more, it gains energy and eventually manifests into speaking or acting. When you begin to speak and act in a way aligned with your question or intention, then more items, more frequently, appear in your mind that are related. The experience of presenting something with a certain attribute, and another thing with a similar attribute appearing is called attraction. Makes sense. You are manifesting results through a logical and step-by-step process driven by the forces of attraction. Yet, despite its logical workings, the law and its processes are indeed miraculous. At its most basic level, it appears to be something appearing out of no where related to what you wanted, inquired about, or set your intention towards. What a wonderful miracle.
When you turn Tarot cards over, set an intention, and connect the aspects of the cards to your personal experiences, you are manifesting images, thoughts, ideas, and possibilities into your life that would not have appeared otherwise. Tarot cards manifest items into your reality because it's impossible for them not to. Everything does. You are the intermediary, the muse, the chooser, the decider, the connector, and the attractor. The tarot card is a condition, and you are the cause for what follows.
